Where It All Began

Back Galley Cafe first opened its doors on the main street of Camden twenty years ago.

It was started by two Ansett Airline ‘hosties’ that were made redundant. The name Back Galley came from the airline industry where the back galley was where all the good gossip started. Back Galley Cafe has grown over the years and has now become synomonous with great food and coffee in Camden, the gossip, not so great.

Ten years ago a local woman named Sarah bought the cafe. She used to work there while at school as her best friends mum was one of the original owners. Sarah is there most days and more than happy to have a chat.

In the last ten years Camden has seen a huge influx of new residents due to the south west housing boom. Many of these new residents are moving from more urban and Sydney city areas to start families and are delighted when enjoying, at Back Galley Cafe, great coffee and modern food trends, tastes and varieties they have become acustom to when living in the inner city.

Our menu caters to the All-Day breakfast goer to vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options. Back Galley Cafe also has a large professional catering and events team to help make that special day even more so with custom menu’s, decor styling and a mobile kitchen or just provide great onsite, venue or take away catering options at an affordable price.
